NC ECE Data Repository

Child Playing

Child Care Services Association, with funding from the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation, has created an early childhood data repository that will provide early childhood providers, community agencies, state agencies and public policy makers with lots of data on the early care and education system. There are 4 sections of data. Each section includes both county and statewide factsheets on the data topic and excel spreadsheets of key data found in each factsheet. Users may choose to download a completed factsheet and/or a spreadsheet that can be used to look at the data in ways that meet the user’s needs. These data factsheets and spreadsheets will be kept as up to date as possible. Some data will be updated daily, other data may be updated monthly, quarterly or annually. Data sources and the timeliness of each data element are available in each section. In addition, for data on the early care and education workforce, users can go to that separate section on the Research portion of the CCSA website.

Below is a description of each section within this repository. The first section, Child Care in North Carolina, is currently available. The remaining sections will all become available by December, 2013.
